The post holder will have overall responsibility to ensure that the Department's financial procedures and controls are effective and compliant with relevant accounting standards and the States Rules. As a member of the Senior Management Team he/she will take the lead role in key strategic financial and resource planning activities.

HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT Project Accountant (Strategic Development) 5 year contract (36 hours per week)

The post holder will act as lead finance officer for a wide range of projects in the Department and will be instrumental in the provision of improved financial and governance. He/she will also provide direct financial support for all Off Island Services.

TREASURY AND RESOURCES DEPARTMENT Financial & Project Accountant - 5 year contract (36 hours per week)

The post holder will be part of the Treasury team that has responsibility for the key financial and resource planning and reporting processes, including the States' Budget and Accounts. He/she will have specific responsibility for producing and developing the year end Accounts, developing the treasury management approach and working on key financial projects.

Successful candidates for the above finance posts will have a formal accounting qualification, including CIPFA/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent, with significant post qualification experience. They will also possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
