Dedicated Financial Investigator, Law Enforcement (36 hours per week)
The Customs and Excise, Immigration and Nationality Service is in the process of migrating to become the Guernsey Border Agency (GBA). The postholder will be responsible for undertaking financial criminal investigations, civil forfeiture investigations and the management and development of financial intelligence. They will be required to fully document all decisions, actions, options and rationale in accordance with current policy and legislation. He/she will be expected to prepare and present case reports, schedules and witness statements and work closely in conjunction with Customs/Police Officers, Prosecutors/Litigators and other agencies etc.
Applicants must be self motivated and well organised whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity. They must also have the ability to develop investigation and detection skills and gain an in-depth knowledge of legislation and codes of practice relevant to the Service. Good communication, team working, analytical and IT skills are essential. A valid driving licence is also required. Due to the nature of the post, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit to an Enhanced Police Check in accordance with the Home Department staff vetting policy.
