and Young People - Social Worker Looked After Children Team - 36 hours per week
The Looked After Children Team
has a vacancy for an experienced social worker with the skills and commitment
to assist the team to provide a high quality service to young people in care.
You will need to have a sound knowledge and background in children and families work and have good communication skills with an aptitude for working with young people, foster carers, parents and other agencies. You will be expected to carry a manageable caseload of young people who will be placed both in Guernsey and in some cases in the United Kingdom. This will require regular visits to the young people together with liaison with their foster carers, birth families and other professional agencies.
You will be required to work as part of a small and friendly team and participate in providing office cover to deal with emergency situations on a pro-rata basis. You will be required to take part in out of hours social work duty on a rota.
